Economy = Bad, Vacation Travel = Good

You don't need me to tell you the economy is bad and will not get better for some time.  And yes, there are fewer plane seats available and the cost is not going to go down. 

So why travel?

Travel is good for the body & the soul. 

Travel is a way to actually have time to talk to your children.

Travel let's you see how other people live and you learn from this.

Travel refreshes!

How do you do it?

1. How about a Cruise?out of Baltimore? You save on airfare (there is none). Cruises include food (great for families), entertainment & many activities. Four (4) cruise lines will be leaving from Baltimore beginning in April. You can choose from Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL and Celebrity cruise lines.  They go to Bermuda & the Caribbean.  This is a very economical way to travel.

2. Think Montreal & Québec.   You are only an hour away and you have the French experience with the Canadian dollar, not the Euro. You get historic cities, great shopping and fine restaurants. You can drive or fly if you have less time. This can be a perfect long weekend trip.

3. The weekend Getaway.   Many people will be replacing the 7-10 vacation with 2 or 3 long weekends in America.  Perhaps a spa getaway or the whiskey trail in Kentucky or a California wine experience and don't forget Vegas, San Francisco, San Antonio or New Orleans. They are all great weekend cities. But remember, book early, 120 million other Americans will have the same idea you do.

4. Finally-take a Tour!   Now is the time to cash in on the savings you get from going on a tour.  Everything is planned out, one price does it all and they have airfare available at a locked in price.  See America, Canada or the world.  National parks, the scenery is free. When times are tough band together & everyone saves money. Form your own group and get those discounts.

2009 will be a stressful year.  Remember the old McDonalds ad "You deserve a break today!"  We can weather the storm provided we get out of the rain once & awhile.  See you under that travel umbrella.
